Mindfulness Coastal Trail Ride

April 24 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

I wanted to call this the “𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘐𝘴 𝘎𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘚𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘓𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘋𝘰 𝘐𝘵 𝘛𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳” but for obvious reasons, this is a working title.

At the heart of what I’m hoping for is a mindfulness ride with some exercises in grounding, and mellow fellowship. We’ll be on the Coastal Trail by Westchester, and given the trail variability and season, fat tires are recommended.

𝟲:𝟭𝟱 𝗣𝗠 – Gather for intention-setting

Generally speaking, this is set up to be a chill ride. Natural speed differences will spread us out, and instead of the traditional “leader”, we’ll all have a shared turnaround time so faster and chiller riders start and end around the same time.

Start meeting at Valley of the Moon parking lot at 6 PM. The ride practice will start at 6:15 PM, but this way if you have questions, want to visit, or need time to get your bike ready, you’re welcome. If you want quiet time in the car before the ride, that’s totally okay too.

At 6:15 PM, we’ll gather, and I’ll give the basic structure for the ride, and the grounding theme.*

For the first 20 minutes of the actual ride, we’ll bike in quiet, giving our brains time to settle, and tune into the physical sensations of our bodies and surroundings.

The last 30 minutes will be open to mindful conversation if desired, to be able to share different observations about the present experience (colors, animals, new seasonal signs, the bike you’re riding (not the bike on order 🙂) and other present moment topics.

At 7:30ish, we’ll get back to the parking lot, and finish up the ride. Friends can choose to ride longer, or visit or go home. Hopefully we all feel a little more in touch and lighter than when we started!

Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for trying it out with me!

*If your mind is busy, sometimes it helps to have a theme to look for. It can be a shape, color, etc. I find it helpful for me, so I’ll share it with anyone else who wants to try it too!
