DESCRIPTION:*REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 1 TO THE FIRST 250 PARTICIPANTS* \nEach year\, Backcountry Bike & Ski greets the sunny season with a scenic day of riding that’s welcoming for all levels. This is our 12th Annual event scheduled for June 7\, 2025. \nWith 25-mile\, 50-mile\, or 100-mile route options\, the Palmer Classic is a non-timed\, non-competitive event that’s fun for the whole family. Pedal at your peak or take your time and enjoy the scenery — anything goes. \nAll routes begin in charming downtown Palmer at the Palmer Quad (located behind the Palmer Depot and the Palmer Library at 655 S Valley Way) and traverse through some of the most scenic sections of road & bike path riding in the area. *Note: Start location may change this year depending on library reconstruction schedule* \nStaggered start times will be based on the route selected. For reference\, last year the 100 mile started at 8am\, 50 mile at 10am and 25 mile at 11am; however\, start times will be confirmed by email prior to the race. Aid stations are available for each course and\, as always\, there’s cool swag! \nThe Highlight Reel:\n– Family-Friendly\n– Registration opens April 1 to the first 250 registrants. DESCRIPTION:Kincaid Grail –Grail Cup 3 \nWednesday\, June 11th @ 7 pm \n8.5 mile lap \nAKA Hillicus Umbillicus AKA the Knotted Intestine\, Kincaid Grail maxes the min by linking the park’s three pristine gravel secteurs via a looping sequence of multiuse path\, ski trails and paved roadway. Fast and flowy with a sneaky amount of elevation\, the course winds through the biathlon area\, then loops through Jodhpur before plunging down the Lake Loop and returning via Little Campbell Lake access road to the Raspberry pavement. Riders then climb the asphalt hill to the junction with Birkie’s Climb\, topping out with a circuit of World Cup’s rocky paths before flying down Elliot’s to the Stadium gravel. We promise you won’t get dizzy\, but you will be shaken! Take on two or three laps depending upon division. \nOnline registration closes at 5pm on race day. NO ONSITE REGISTRATION. Please check in between 5:30 -6:30pm.

SUMMARY:Eagle River Kids Triathlon
DESCRIPTION:Eagle River Kids Triathlon is part of the USAT Youth State Series along with Turnagain Training’s Spring Duathlon & Splash and Dash Series. Our goal is to provide some opportunities for young athletes to get into multi-sport activities and help promote healthy lifestyles. \nThe triathlon is hosted at Chugiak H.S and is set up to be very spectator friendly. The event takes place all on school grounds and is closed off from any traffic. See maps on the website.  \nEvent details:\nAge range is 6-13 yrs old. \nShort Course:\nSwim – 50 yards\, (1 lap pool swim. Life jackets are welcome)\nBike – 1mi (2 laps around the school).\nRun – .6mi (out and back on the grass practice field) \nLong Course:\nSwim – 300 yards\, (6 lap pool swim.)\nBike – 2mi (4 laps around the school).\nRun – 1.2mi (double out and back on the grass practice field) \nPLEASE VOLUNTEER! DESCRIPTION:The Foxy Beaver Grinder is put on by Speedway Cycles and Backcountry Bike and Ski. This roughly 36mi event features the best gravel in the Valley. The name comes from our award sponsor\, the Foxy Beaver Taxidermy\, located along the route. The course has approximately 1200′ of climbing with a couple of pavement sections to catch your breath\, with a wonderfully challenging section of what I like to describe as vicious gravel with steep ups and downs. Come test your chops and enjoy the best bar in the Valley for food and drinks afterwards. \nThe race starts at 4pm. \nMale and Female categories only\, no age divisions. \nThere are camp spots available. DESCRIPTION:Alaska’s only 80 mile mix-tape town race returns with a heap of old favorites and some previously unreleased tracks. The 80-mile course begins with the Yoder-Montana Creek out-and-back extravaganza\, before tackling “Noel Wein and the Three Mountains”\, some fresh northerly ATV trails\, Bargeberg and the cool part of the Mastodon climb\, some Whigmi ski trails and X-Y single track\, the wild and wonderful Beaver-Comsat trail to Beaver Rd\, before turning around for the blessed southerly run back to the finish. Of course\, you still have the shattered grades of Old Lake Rd\, another dose of swoopy ski trails\, Woodpecker and Red Tail\, the Spur and the Sunshine finale. Its not over till its over. For those preferring the short and scenic route\, we are again offering the 25-mile option\, covering just the initial out-and-back. Embrace the beast\, or pet the doodle. \nRace starts @ 12 pm.
