SUMMARY:Filmed by Bike: Joyride!
DESCRIPTION:Filmed by Bike was founded in 2003 by artist Ayleen Crotty. The festival began at a micro-theater in Portland\, Oregon\, with an enthusiastic crowd of bike-loving attendees. More than twenty years later\, Filmed by Bike has grown into a prestigious event within the global bike <a href="http://movement.Joyride” target=”_blank” title=”movement.Joyride”>movement.Joyride is a family-friendly group of films: a mix of fun short films (who hasn’t had a chase through mountains over their lucky bike shorts?) and inspiring documentaries featuring young people. And this year\, one of the films takes place right here in Alaska! \nThis screening is part of Winter Bike Fest\, a monthlong celebration with bike rides\, films\, storytelling\, and community events that bring people together and remind us all why Anchorage is a world-class winter biking city. It’s also an important fundraiser for Bike Anchorage\, helping us continue our year-round advocacy\, education\, and community programs that make biking safer and more accessible for <a href="http://everyone. \nGA” target=”_blank” title=”everyone. \nGA”>everyone. \nGA $15 \nPart of the proceeds will benefit Bike Anchorage\,a 501(c)(3) non-profit <a href="http://organization. \n” target=”_blank” title=”organization. \n“>organization.

SUMMARY:Memorial Ride for Alex Pretti
DESCRIPTION:Anchorage joins Angry Catfish Bicycle Shop and Coffee Bar and riders all over the country to ride in honor of Alex Pretti. We will meet at 1pm Saturday\, January 31 at Abbott Loop Community Park on Elmore in his <a href="http://memory. \n– \nFrom” target=”_blank” title=”memory. \n– \nFrom”>memory. \n– \nFrom @angrycatfish: “Alex was one of us\, could’ve been any of us\, so as we mourn\, all of us can come together in unity to remember Alex for what he was. A kind and caring soul put on this earth to be the light for others. Although his light has been extinguished by this fascist regime\, it hasn’t been lost. If anything\, those sparks fell and ignited something in us that’s been hiding all along. We are stronger together\, and they can’t take us all. We’ve gathered together a community of cyclists to remember Alex Pretti. Please join in\, near or far this Saturday\, 1/31 1:00 PM Central Time–We’re asking folks to host rides and come together. Bike shops and non-profits\, cycling orgs and alt cycling collectives\, city and rural. We are many but we stand together as <a href="http://one.–If” target=”_blank” title=”one.–If”>one.–If you’d like to join in and gather folks together\, please print the flyer and tag @angrycatfish on social media so they can share where your ride will take place. SUMMARY:February Coed Cheese and Crackers Ride
DESCRIPTION:The days are getting longer and the opportunities for nightlife on bikes is becoming less frequent. So join us for next installment of the nearly famous Coed Cheese and Crackers Ride. We will ride for about 60-90 minutes followed by cheese and crackers and other yummy snacks around the fire <a href="http://pit. \nDepending” target=”_blank” title=”pit. \nDepending”>pit. \nDepending upon the group size we will likely split into groups based on comfort/effort levels. This ride is for all ability levels\, and is a low-stress and high-fun event! \nIMPORTANT: We have decided to add a temperature cutoff for our winter rides. We’ve had some subzero rides and they aren’t that much fun. So IF THE FORECAST for the night of the ride is below 5 degree F\, we will cancel the ride and try to reschedule. So check back THE DAY BEFORE the ride.We will give a 24 notice for this. \nWhen: Thursday\, February 19 at 6:30 pmWhere: Abbott Loop Community Park on Elmore \n<a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/2Y1Vjg2R1a7KxDsF9?g_st=ic \nPlease” target=”_blank” title=”https://maps.app.goo.gl/2Y1Vjg2R1a7KxDsF9?g_st=ic \nPlease”>https://maps.app.goo.gl/2Y1Vjg2R1a7KxDsF9?g_st=ic \nPlease arrive by 6:15 pm to sign <a href="http://waivers.What” target=”_blank” title=”waivers.What”>waivers.What to bring: A charged light! A helmet! A fat tire bike! \nBIKES: These rides are for all abilities and we are not bike snobs. But you will have a better time if your bike is well maintained and capable of riding on snow/ice covered trails. So a fat tire bike is highly recommended. Skinny tires are probably not going to work. Please reach out to Trek store or Dave or Becky (via messenger) if you have any questions. \nDOGS: While we love dogs\, we ask that you please leave them at home. We ask this out of concern for the safety of your dog and the safety of our <a href="http://participants. \nContact” target=”_blank” title=”participants. \nContact”>participants. \nContact Dave or Becky via Messenger if you have any questions about the ride.
