SUMMARY:CMBR Kids Youth MTB Registration
DESCRIPTION:2025 REGISTRATION OPENS APRIL 1ST at 7pm!\n\nChoose either M/W or T/Th session.\n\nCMBR Kids Youth MTB Club is a parent-led program that provides an introduction to basic mountain biking by teaching fundamental bike handling skills\, building confidence on singletrack trails\, and promoting a healthy lifestyle through mountain biking.\n\nNote: CMBR Littles! (6-7 year olds) are welcome to ride with us. All youth will need a bike with hand brakes (no coaster/foot brakes) and must already be able to ride well on pavement and grass. Parents of 6-7 year olds must to remain at the park during the session and are encouraged to ride with their child(ren).\n\nWHO: Youth ages 6-16\, \n\nWHERE: @ the Mirror Lake Singletrack Trails\, Chugiak (Mirror Lake exit off the Glenn Hwy)\n\nWHEN: Mon/Weds or Tues/Thurs\n\nM/W June 23rd – July 30st\nT/Th June 24th – July 31st.\n\nTIME: 7:00pm – 8:30pm\n\nHow do I sign up? \n\nREGISTRATION WILL OPEN APRIL 1ST\, 2025\, 7pm.\n\nWhat is CMBR Kids Youth Mountain Bike Club?\n\nCMBR Kids (Chugach Moutain Bike Riders) is an all-volunteer mountain bike club serving youths from 6-16 in Chugiak-Eagle River. The club teaches on the 6 miles of singletrack mountain bike trails at Mirror Lake Park in Chugiak.\n\nNow in our ninth year\, our club typically hosts about 150 youth\, half meeting Mon/Weds and half riding Tues/Thurs.\n\nFor the first 30 minutes or so we work on that evening’s mountain bike skill\, and then break into small volunteer-coach-led groups to ride with other youth of a roughly similar skill level.Within the groups\, there will be some faster and some slower youth together: the focus is skills\, not speed.Over a 6-week period we work through a good overview of mountain bike fundamentals.\n\nOur lead coaches are Level 1 certified through the Bike Instructor Certification Program (BICP).\n\nWe require all youth bikes to be professionally tuned up and safety checked and everyone must wear helmets to participate.\n\nOther local youth mountain bike programs include the Valley Mountain Bikers and Hikers’ Sprockidz program in the Matanuska-Susitna Valley\, and Mighty Bikes in Anchorage. Older and more advanced youth should check out the Hilltop Bike School.

SUMMARY:The Trio 2025
DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Trio is on for March 15th! This year’s event will again feature the 12mi section of trails located in the XY Lakes area for the longer course (approx.32mi loop) as well as our now legendary 20mi party loop. We are bringing back the “Time Out” at Shangri La\, so stop and enjoy the bonfire and festivities as long as you like without losing time! After the event\, Denali Brewing will be providing us with fantastic beer and food! \nWe are super stoked to have the band Sazon on stage at the Sheldon Arts Hangar afterwards (from 7-10pm). \nStart time is 10am. We have decided to take advantage of colder morning temps\, as we originally did\, so please note the 10AM start! Fast riders out in front\, everyone else falling in line afterwards. We’d like everyone to be on course by 10:15. \nFor the 32mi event\, you will need to cross Comsat Rd both directions. We will not be controlling traffic\, so ride as you would when encountering road traffic and yeild to vehicles. \nRace fee is $175. Our cost to put the event on has increased considerably\, so we are forced to raise the price. But it’s still the best deal in AK! \n***Please note\, we submit food quantities the Monday before the event\, so day of sign ups are not guaranteed food at the afterparty. *** \nWe are limiting the event to 200 racers this year. \nRace Start: 10am \nDinner and awards afterwards at 5pm \nDenali Brewing Company is a cosponsor and is brewing a special beer as well as catering the event \nRegistration: \nOnline: Ends 3/12/2025 at 11:59pm AKST. \nEarly Bib pickup at Speedway Cycles on Thursday 3/13/2025 between Noon and 7pm or Day of (Saturday) from 8:00-9:00 am in front of Denali Brewing. \nRegistration Day of: 8:00-9:00 or Cash or Check ONLY please! \nThere are no refunds. \nMore details to come.
