DESCRIPTION:The course is roughly 5.9 miles of gravel road up to the top of Arctic Valley Rd. \nThis is a mixed surface event so a gravel or MTB bike is recommended. \nParking\, check in\, and bib pick up will be at the gravel pullout on the right-hand side of Arctic Valley Rd; just before the start of the climb. DESCRIPTION:Green Lake Grinder/Matt Matyas Memorial – May 17th\, 2025@11AM \nThe Green Lake Grinder is put on by Speedway Cycles/Corvus Cycles with help from The Alaska Endurance Association. This roughly 40mi event will take place on Saturday May 17th at 11am on JBER\, utilizing some of the best terrain in the Anchorage Bowl\, featuring beautiful scenery and rolling hills. The start/finish will take place at the Green Lake Chalet and there will be a neutral start for the first several miles. All riders must follow the rules of the road\, as we are controlling riders rather than traffic. There is very little traffic\, and the speed limit is usually 25mph. \nWe will have a catered lunch at the chalet afterwards but we haven’t finalized the menu. \nMale and Female categories only\, no age divisions. \nWe suggest all racers carry bear spray for safety reasons. \nA few things to remember. First and foremost\, the race can be cancelled due to military exercises at any time. Refunds will be given. Second\, we need you to sign up immediately. All racers must be registered by 9PM\, May 1st. Family members who would like to come on base must also supply driver’s license and birth dates at time of online registration\, no exceptions. All info has to be turned over to JBER for the background check. Please remember this is a military installation\, so do not bring illegal substances/weapons to the gate! \nAccess must be through the Boniface Gate only\, which is the quickest route to Green Lake (approx. 10 minute drive). SUMMARY:Eagle River Skyline Climb
DESCRIPTION:Ride together from Bartlett High Parking Lot to Eagle River Skyline Drive. Starts out with easy flat\, even pace (16 – 18 mph) to Eagle River. Once we hit Skyline Drive\, the group will split into those who want to climb skyline (8% grade and ~1200 ft of ascension for 1.5 miles) and those ready to return to Anchorage. We’ll regroup at the base of Skyline\, top of skyline\, and again at the base after descent. After climbing\, we’ll head for coffee/snacks and chat at Jitters coffee shop. We will return back to Bartlett HS via Eagle View Drive -> Glenn Highway Bike Path. Total ascent and mileage with the Skyline climb is around ~1\,800 feet and ~29 miles.  \nLink to ride: https://www.strava.com/routes/3354237264486767662 \nLike paces will be paired up.  \nMeet in the parking lot at Bartlett High just before 9 am. Introductions and bike check. Ride out together.  \nRiders are free to ride back at anytime they like or coordinate with the group on the return.  \nRide safely. At the top of the hill\, you’ll see mile marker 99. There’s a turn-in and gate (it’ll be open). We’ll bring the tools\, you bring the awesome! At this rate\, Slikok STX trails should be open after the work night.

So here’s your chance to test yourself against your historical Classic Potter records. Once you’re done if you feel like you have more in the tank\, meet back at the start line for round two\, this time to the top! \nRace #1 – 7:00pm Classic Potter which is 1.8 mi\, 680 ft gain. \nRace #2 – Roughly 7:30pm full course 3 mi\, 1250 ft gain. We’ll meet at the ball fields off Elmore and MLK and split into groups to ride gravel\, pavement\, or a combo. \nThe Hot Chocolate Ride is a women’s group ride for all ability levels\, sponsored by the Trek Store. Come out and make new friends to ride with! We will ride for about an hour and a half.
