2026 marks our 13th ANNUAL PALMER CLASSIC!
Each year, Backcountry Bike & Ski kicks off the sunny season with a day of riding that’s all about fun, friends, and stunning views. With 25-mile, 50-mile, and 100-mile route options, this non-timed, non-competitive event is perfect for riders of all levels. This year, all routes start from the Mat Su Borough building parking lot (350 E Dahlia Ave) and wind through some of the most scenic road and bike path sections in the area. Staggered start times align with your chosen route, aid stations keep you fueled, and yes—there’s always cool swag!

For reference, last year the 100 mile started at 8am, 50 mile at 10am and 25 mile at 11am; however, start times will be confirmed by email prior to the race. Aid stations are available for each course and, as always, there’s cool swag!
