~~~~~~~~~~~
Only a couple Friday rides left! After October, the daylight hours will be getting a bit short and we would be finishing the rides after dark…not doing that, although nighttime riding can be fun, especially with a full moon to view.
Because the fair is still going, Springer System is still off limits, but I’ve put together a route which should be just fine. And we can wave at the people stuck in fair traffic from a separated bike path.
Essentially, we will do an out and back on the Glenn Bike path, starting by going up Bogard and crossing at Felton. On the way back, we will do a nice little lap of the airport road before heading back to the shop. Comes out to 14.5 miles and about 500′ of elevation. We have two major road crossings, both at lights. If needed we will regroup at them.
If somehow this is your first time seeing one of group ride posts, the Friday Casual road ride is an friendly paced group ride intended to get people out and riding on their drop bar bikes, and learn some of the subtleties of road riding–there is thought involved, believe it or not–, meet people, and maybe push a little harder than you might while doing errands or getting out in your neighborhood. The target pace is 12-15mph for roughly an hour.
