Talkeetna Grinder

Talkeetna Grinder returns in 2024 with an epic, chunky, funky extravaganza – a wild roundtrip excursion across Talkeetna’s most challenging terrain. A peak summer timeslot means no atmospheric river (gods willing – if you raced last year you know) and optimal race conditions. The full course is just shy of 80 miles and includes wide roads, narrow roads, chunky gravel and smooth, ski trail and single track, with a bit of TKA Spur pavement to knit it all together. This year we start and end on adjacent roads either side of the Spur, meaning you can collapse and begin consoling yourself with beverages immediately. This may not be Alaska’s longest gravel race, but it is certainly the most varied and action packed. Come make history with us on a course that is destined to become a classic.

Participants can choose between the full experience (80 miles) or the much shorter experience (25 miles). Details below.

(Please note that course is subject to modification and may be updated accordingly – as always, we will do our best to exactly reproduce the course as routed, but unforeseen conditions may result in minor changes. Current GPX is for reference and may not reflect minor routing details. A confirmed, complete GPX will be released prior to race day once race officials have ridden and proofed all sections of the course. In addition, the course will be marked with a combination of cones, pin flags and directional signage.)

Registration closes June 28th at 9 pm.
No onsite registration.
Registration limited to 100 combined participants.
No categories, just two distances!
Cost: $50 Full – 80 miles / $25 Short – 25 miles (out-and-back on Yoder and Montana Creek roads)
